Some examples of the programmes and projects that we have undertaken previously include:

  • Overall direction and leadership for a global SAP-enabled business and process change programme for downstream marketing, supply and logistics - oversaw the successful initial implementation in Spain and Portugal and designed the governance structure and operating model to take the programme forward into other geographies.

  • Played key roles (eg Global Head of Transformation, Executive Sponsor, IT Project Director) in the successful delivery of a billion pound programme to transform the systems and process 'backbone' at one of the world's largest energy trading businesses - covering front office, supply chain operations, position monitoring, transaction processing (eg pricing, invoicing and payments), financial and management reporting, credit exposure monitoring, and accounting, plus the underlying technical infrastructure for all types of trading (oil, gas, power, physicals, futures and options, over the counter and on-exchangeetc) across the globe. The programme consisted of approximately a dozen distinct projects (some in turn in excess of £100 million), requiring prioritization and co-ordination.

  • Programme Director for the outsourcing and offshoring of IT support for a major global energy trading business, working with a number of different offshore vendors.

  • Orchestration and oversight of a project to consolidate European oil supply and trading activity with various different heritages onto a single integrated system and set of business processes.

  • Management of change for the reorganization of a global trading Control and Finance function - described by the company's Internal Audit department as the best managed and most rigorous such transformation they had seen.

  • Leadership of a multi-year continuous improvement programme to enhance the control environment and raise the capabilities of a European supply and trading business.

  • Successful restructuring of a global trading risk management transformation initiative that was experiencing severe difficulties.

  • IT Project Director for major retail programmes in supply chain and merchandise distribution.
